What are cookies?

Cookies are small files that are stored on a user’s computer or mobile device. Cookies help to sustain the functionality of the website you are visiting and also hold user-specific information about other pages you have visited. Cookies make the experience of using websites easier for the user, for example, it saves your username and password so you don’t have to re-enter them every time you visit the page. Cookies may be used also to save user-specific data so website owners can gain information about the interests of users that visit the website and it allows to tailor better content for a better experience.

How do we use cookies?

Cookies save information that you visited our website, when it happened, remembers IP address, which parts of the website you visited. This information is sent to Google Inc. (Ireland) which holds it on Google servers for 60 days (European Union and the U.S.). Before exchanging the data with Google, IP addresses are made anonymous by replacing the actual IP address with user-specific code which is genuine for every single user.

Google from their side confirms data processing regulations, including transference to third-person parties, according to European Union and U.S. requirements of normative acts. At the same Google ensures no usage of the data for Google services itself.

You can prevent transference of cookies to Google by using a plugin “Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on”.

How to control cookies?

You have an option to delete all the cookies from your computer or device manually or use an option provided by the majority of web browsers to deny the creation of cookies at all.

Practically all web browsers hold the option to:

  • Review saved cookies and delete them;
  • Deny creation of cookies for the third party;
  • Deny creation of cookies for marketing sites;
  • Deny any creation of cookies;
  • Delete all cookies once closing the web browser.

You need to remember that by deleting all the cookies you are deleting also all the settings you have set in particular websites. Additionally, you need to consider that by denying usage of the cookies at all, many websites (including ours) may not function properly and can lead to disruptions in the provision of services, therefore we don’t recommend the usage of the option to deny the creation of cookies.
